BrainstormsDiscovery Experience

Big ideas start with little brainstorms

We're a 501(c)(3) nonprofit on a mission to make science and innovation accessible for every child in our community.

Our story

Brainstorms started because kids in New Port Richey and greater Pasco County deserve a place where they can do science, not just read about it.

Right now we bring science to the community through popup exhibits, library programs, and events around the county. At the same time, we're working toward opening a permanent, interactive discovery center in downtown New Port Richey.

Every program is built for families with kids ages 4 to 14, and every program keeps one promise: we make learning so much fun that kids don't want to stop.

A future home for discovery

We've proposed the rehabilitation and activation of the historic Main & Bank Building in downtown New Port Richey as the future home of Brainstorms: a permanent space for exhibits, workshops, and community programs.

Until the doors open, catch us at popups and programs across Pasco County.

What we believe

Discover Curiosity

Every exhibit and program starts with a question worth asking. We give kids the space to wonder, tinker, and find out for themselves.

Explore Innovation

From build challenges to messy experiments, we blend science, discovery, and creativity into learning that feels like play.

Ignite Community

We're built by and for Pasco County. We partner with libraries, schools, and neighbors to bring STEM to every child.

Why a science center?

Science centers work. In 2024 alone, science engagement organizations worldwide welcomed an estimated 115.8 million visits, and 9 in 10 offer dedicated programs for students and teachers.* Kids in New Port Richey deserve the same thing, close to home.
